Disaster Prevention

Japan is a country prone to earthquakes. In recent years, large earthquakes have occurred in various parts of Japan, and it is predicted that a major earthquake is likely to occur in the Tokai region in the near future. Additionally, due to recent climate change, typhoons causing wind and water damage, and torrential rains leading to river flooding, have become more frequent during the summer. During disasters, mobile phone lines may become difficult to connect, and communication may be disrupted, so it is essential to discuss with family and friends how to confirm each other’s safety and where to meet. Regularly secure bookshelves and heavy furniture to the wall, and prepare an emergency kit (including water, food, first aid supplies, daily necessities, and valuables such as passports). It is important to regularly check what to do in case of an emergency and where your evacuation site is.
